A domain name is an identification label. Domain names are hostnames that identify Internet Protocol (IP) resources such as web sites. Domain names are formed by the rules and procedures of the Domain Name System (DNS).
An important purpose of domain names is to provide easily recognizable and memorizable names to numerically addressed Internet resources. The unique name that identifies an Internet site is Domain Name. Domain Names always have 2 or more parts, separated by dots. The part on the left is the most specific, and the part on the right is the most general which is most important.
You can use a word or phrase as a domain name. If the domain is for a company, you might want to put your company name in the domain, this makes it easier for your customers to find you on the Internet. And finally, make sure your domain name can be verbally communicated. You do not want to constantly repeat or spell it out.
You can choose domain name based on your brand name or keyword. The domain name you are choosing should be short and easy to remember. Long domain names are not suggested.
While choosing a domain name you can select any of the TLDS such as .com, .net, .org, .biz, .in, .co.in etc. If your primary audience are specific to a particular location, its better to have a domain like .in, co.in, .uk, .us etc.
